Help shape the future of NZ’s building sector with your data expertise
- Blend hands-on data wrangling with sector-wide impact
- Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary Sector Insights team
You’ll help bring research to life by preparing and managing data that enables the generation of actionable insights. These insights can shape industry decisions and improve outcomes for communities.
About the role
As an Associate Data Analyst, you’ll manage and process diverse datasets – from construction material usage and homeowner surveys to energy monitoring and building consent data. You’ll ensure data integrity, prepare analysis-ready datasets, and support researchers in drawing out trends, patterns and insights.
Your work will support scientists, economists, behavioural scientists, and data experts to deliver evidence-based outcomes for the sector. There’s also room to grow your analytical and writing skills, particularly in R, SQL, Python or visualisation tools like Power BI.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A tertiary qualification in data, science, engineering, building science or commerce
- Hands-on experience managing datasets is preferred
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel, (plus familiarity with R, SQL or Python is a bonus)
- Excellent organisation, collaboration and communication skills
- A curious mind and motivation to grow your technical expertise
If you’re passionate about using data to make a difference and want to contribute to projects that genuinely shape the future of NZ’s built environment, this is the opportunity to do it.
